Happy times!
It is mayhem right now but I wanted to quickly drop by to say that I am currently in Chicago for one of my very good friend's wedding. I am excited beyond words and cannot wait. If I am not too emotional and happy (read tipsy), I will take pictures of my bridemaid's dress and much more.
Speaking of weddings, my sister over at Wedding By Design is giving tips on how to use African bangles as napkins rings.

So fresh and so clean, clean!
This couple just epitomizes it all: glamour, fame, love, healthy kids...we don't know what goes on behind close doors but don't they seem to have it all? Simply put, Will and Jada Smith are a grade A couple. Here they were earlier today at a fundraising dinner. The dinner is part of the 3 days birthday celebration for my adopted grand-father: Nelson Mandela. Happy 90th birthday Madeba!

I love Jada's dress, the color is to die for. Will -a.k.a Mr. Fafa- is so yummy. It's ridiculous. I love his navy suit.

Watch your time!
Hi guys !
I have pretty much been busy these last days. So busy that I did not have time to write a new post, nor chat whith other bloggers. I didn't even get to watch the Sex and the City movie. Time goes so fast that I sometimes wonder if there are really 24 hours in a day.
Thinking about how precious time is, I realized that I needed a new watch. I haven't worn one in a while mainly because a quick glance at my cell phone tells me what time it is. But, this timepiece is still an important accessory to have on the wrist every day and I totally agree with Drew Sirtors who said: "watches are so named as a reminder - if you don't watch carefully what you do with your time, it will slip away from you".
Have a great week end!

All watches are from Michael, Michael kors

Monsieur & Madame Cannon
Coucou ladies!
Now, I know this has nothing to do with this blog...but I am having a very busy week and whenever I get to escape the crazyness, all I hear about is Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. My girls and I have been blabbing about how quick they got married and if it was going to last..yadi yada! People date for years and divorce 8 months later and vice-versa. Everybody is wondering how and why and I am saying why not? Look how happy they look together. I am rooting for them. It's TOO cute!!!!

Louis Vuitton wants her to stop her darfur campaign
I realize this is about 3 weeks old; but I was debating if I should post this or not since The Perfect Touch is a "light" blog. But to that I am saying whatever! Lol.
26 year old Nadia Plesner an artist and designer from Denmark is being sued by Louis Vuitton for using one of their products in her art piece.

Shouldn't Louis Vuitton write a check to support the cause as opposed to suing the artist? To each its own I guess.

What my spring smells like
"Where should one use perfume?" a young woman asked. "Wherever one wants to be kissed," I said. Coco Chanel
Although I do not particulary want to be kissed, I always use pefume. In fact, I am guilty of having too many; so much so that I rotate them according to the weather.
Sometimes, a captivating scent is all you need to be remembered. The cutest outfit or the most passionate speech is often forgotten but a scent seldom is. If you don't believe me, read Perfume the novel by Patrick Süskind which explores the story of man on an obsessive quest for the perfect scent. A great read which will do more than tickle your olfactory sense.
Unlike Süskind character, I have found the perfect scent and here are my top faves for SPRING:
1. a
Acqua di Giò by Armani: fresh floral, sweet pea and the fragrance of jasmine in a feminine scent. I have been wearing Acqua Di Giò since I am fifteen and I cannot stop wearing it...a few spray and it's like magic: it instantly makes me happy.
1. b
Un amour de Patou by Jean Patou: a dazzling mix of jasmine, musk, oakmoss, rose and privet. I have been wearing it almost as long as Acqua. It's the most romantic perfume ever. I bought a few bottles when I heard it was being discontinued. I am now on my last bottle and will do a lot to have a stack that will last me a lifetime. The few places which still carry it now have a waiting list; it is unfortunate since I absolutely adore this one. Please, if you know of a place I can purchase one without having to put my name on a waiting list, let me know.
2.
Pleasures by Estée Lauder: a delightful sheer floral created from lilies and peonies, jasmine and Karo-Karounde blossoms, all tingling with the rare essence of exotic Baie Rose.
The contenders that I almost equally love:
3.
Miss Dior chérie by Dior: a mix of green tangerines, strawberry leaves, violet, pink jasmine, patchouli and crystalline musk.
4.
Envy me by Gucci: a sensual blend of peony, jasmine, pink pepper, litchi, pomegranate, pineapple, pink musk, seringa, white tea, sandalwood, teakwood, sensual musk.
5.
Armani Code by Giorgio Armani: a masculine, sexy blend of fresh lemon and bergamot softened with hints of orange tree blossom, warmed with soothing guaiac wood, and tonka bean. I know it's a fragrance for men but I own a couple of men's perfume and this one is my fave. I wear it all year long.

6 randoms things about us
Thanks divalicious Eva for the tag; since it's the two of us we'll do this real quick:
Linda
- I hate how much i like bags sometimes forgetting to buy clothes
- I spend hours in the shower, often times singing on top of my lungs...the water pump is a microphone and I am a rock star
- Although I am a bit busy with Manwi (my little daughter Morgane) my favorite activity is watching TV
- My therapy when I am pissed is to reorganize everything....it calms me down..it's better than breaking everything
- I have never ever been drunk in my life, I have been tipsy (like this past saturday when i kept laughing and saying stupid things). It however must be nice from time to time to get drunk if I can avoid hangovers
- I have a sweet tooth...it really is my guilty pleasure. Muffins, chocolate and crêpes, let's not forget ice cream. Too bad they are fattening but I can't help it!
Fafa
- I lived in 7 countries and constantly have wanderlust
- I met Linda through her boyfriend. He's been a friend of mine for 11 years and we met in Sénegal and both lived in Côte d'Ivoire and Washington D.C...Then, I met Linda...Now I am hooked on her and we seldom spend a day without talking to each other. Aaaaw!
- I will never diet. Not that I don't need it; I just don't know how
- I have commitment issues. It is really, really bad. Please keep me in your prayers. LMAO! But that's in part because deep down, I think I will have MY dream story and therefore shouldn't settle for less.
- I have a MS in Conflict Resolution and Analysis and 2 years later, I am still explaining to my relatives and some friends what it really means
- My 3 sisters and my parents truly are my rock. I constantly tell them that as long as I have them, the rest is luxury

An existential question...posted by F.
Is the scrunchie back in fashion? Remember the Sex and the City episode when Carrie declared to Burger (the writer who broke up with her on a post-it...shame on him!) that not a single woman in Manhattan will be seen wearing a scrunchie? Well I would have even bet my car that no woman alive and mentally stable will be seen wearing a scrunchie in public...regardless of her location...period. Well...a couple of people at Neiman Marcus beg to differ and posted the picture below on their website.
So does that mean the scrunchie is back? I certainly hope not. It reminds me too much of back in the days when I used to wear it and eagerly wanted everyone to call me a teen which, clearly, I wasn't. In case you are not feeling a bit media pressured, you can head to Neiman Marcus and get one of these scrumptious scrunchies on sale for $23.
